About Me
Seven years ago at the tender age of thirteen was when Lindsey started to involve herself with music. Growing up in a family with many musical talents, she was always around music but never looked at it as her own outlet. As she moved into middle school, her seventh grade choir was the beginning of the long road ahead. Although choir songs weren’t quite her forte, it was a start.
She rejoined again the following year and started taking private vocal lessons from her teacher, never thinking twice about making singing anything other then a class. Her friends begged her to audition for “Select Ensemble,” a small group of elite singers aka. The best of the best for eighth graders. Finally caving in, she auditioned. To her utmost surprise, out of the fifty auditioning, she was one of eighteen making it in. Too shy to sing any solos, she stepped up in a few duet showcases and made many remarkable memories. Her vocal coach moved away that summer, forcing her to find a new coach, while she started into her high school years. To this very day, finding Jackie King was one of the most important moments in her life; she is the key to her growth as a musician and an amazing friend.
Jackie transformed her into someone she never thought she would have the guts to be, a musician. Right around this time, she started looking into guitar lessons, at a local music store. Borrowing her uncle’s black acoustic, she never dreamed of anything like it. Within 3 short months, she was out shopping for her very own acoustic. Traveling to Lansing’s very own, Elderly Instruments, she found the guitar of her dreams within five minutes of walking through the doors. With help from both her musically experienced uncle’s, the first guitar she picked up was the guitar she walked out with.
Learning new songs independently on her Blueridge solid top acoustic, she never wanted to put it down. Rapidly advancing, Jackie believed it was time for her to show the public what she was working on. Nervously shaking all the way up to the microphone at Kozy Koffee in Highland, she started her three-song set consisting of Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift, and Colbie Caillat. Although it was not a perfect performance by any means, it was a huge milestone towards the performances she gives to this day. Since then she has played multiple Covers and Originals at various coffee Shops, Made it as a finalist three times in The Music Man Songwriting Competition, as well as a finalist in both Livingston Sensations and Hamburg Idol.
She loved being involved in all the music related scenes, so as a junior in High School, she started questioning her seven-year dream of becoming a veterinarian. Constantly being questioned, “What do you want to be when you grow up?,” had her challenging her own dreams. After hours of essays, reading, researching, and planning, she concluded; Music was her passion.
As a senior in high school, she began a dual enrollment program with Washtenaw Community College; helping her achieve a head start on where she wanted to take her life. By May two thousand and twelve she had completed five semester long classes towards a Music Production/Engineering Certificate, before even graduating from Hartland High; and completed the certificate by the end of the year. Of course, things change. After completing the certificate, she realized Music Production just wasn't her cup of tea. Of course the experience and knowledge is something she would never trade in, but she changed directions in terms of a career path. Still currently undecided, she is looking into Web Designing, Interior design, and of course Songwriting (which will never be let go of...she'll be happy even with it on the side). It's only a matter of time before she finds her calling, living out the dreams she's always had.
Thank You's From Lindsey...
My family and friends mean the world to me and I cannot even thank you all enough for all your support. Without any of you, this would never be possible...YOUR AMAZING! <3
Mom & Dad: You both are my biggest fans and supporters and I love you so so much. All I have would never have been possible without what you do, honestly. Your inspiration to follow what I love; and faith that I can do anything I set my mind to, has pushed me to where I am now. So from the bottom of my heart, te amo.
Katie: You're the best sister/friend I could ever dreamed of being blessed with. You are there for me no matter what, good or bad you got my back. You make me laugh uncontrollably, and I love spending time/making memories with you! I love you Katie, thank you for always being there!
Bri: You come to all my events to support me, and put up with me in all your free time. You truly are my best friend, my un-biological sister if you will, and I wouldn't be the person I am without you! We have the best times and laughs when we are together, and memories I will cherish my whole life! It's been hard not having you around for weeks at a time but you still help me through everything!
Jackie: You have helped me through so much and I'm so thankful that we were brought together. Without your wonderful teaching, I would never be where I am today. I am so unbelievably proud of everything you accomplished and I love you so dearly! I can't wait to see what you do with your music career and your future advice into mine...thank you for everything you do!
